Stories of Reason: It’s time to make this official

For approximately three years and two months, I have been, in the grand scheme of things, quietly side hustling. Supporting people that I’ve known for many years when they need marketing expertise. And I’ve loved it.
Creating work that you can tangibly see has generated change, helped them progress, opened a door.
I have been previously consulting just under my name, because frankly, it’s the reputation I have which has got me this far and it has done me well.
But it’s time for a change.
Because nothing changes if nothing changes.
So, this is me officially introducing Reason Marketing. It’s still me, but it draws a line in what I stand for.
I want to help those that want to progress with purpose, with reason.
Because there is nothing that motivates me more than being able to contribute to positive change for a client.
And if I am going to give this consultancy a name, it’s got to define who I am, who I want to work with and what I intend to deliver; marketing with reason.
Inspiration is everywhere and that’s another big topic for another day, but the inspiration for the name Reason comes from a previous colleague and good friend Kerry.
Supposedly I had left a lasting impact on her from our time together, positive thankfully!
I used to have a white board behind me when we worked together and in one corner of said whiteboard I just had one word, in capitals, “WHY?”
Over a number of years, this would be pointed to on many occasions.
It helped to silence the noise and get back to what’s important, what’s the focus, the WHY?
The reason.
I must thank my clients I’ve worked with on a project and retainer basis so far, because they are the ones that have built my self-confidence to give this side hustle an official name.
